5 Indoor Fitness Fixes to Keep You Training This Autumn

Ask anyone when it is that their fitness routine becomes hardest to maintain, and they are probably going to tell you something along the lines of “when it starts getting dark out by 5 p.m.” or “as soon as it gets below 40° outside.”

There’s no denying it; keeping up with your workout routine in the fall and winter is much harder. To help combat this struggle, here are five fun tips to keep you moving even when it’s chilly outside.

There’s an App for That

What kind of workout have you been itching to try? Belly dancing? Hula hooping? Yogalates? No matter what type of movement strikes your fancy, there’s an app for it.

Once upon a time, in order to try a completely new type of workout, you had to either wait for a local establishment to begin offering classes, or else send away for a video you saw on an infomercial. But, thanks to the smartphone world we live in right now, nearly every type of workout you can imagine is at your fingertips, complete with guided videos, written instructions, and sometimes even communities of fellow devotees.

Trying something completely new is a surefire way to beat the boredom, and now it’s easy to test it out in the confines of your own living room!

Get Your Steps in at the Mall

Yes, you might think that the concept of “mall walking” is something that should be reserved for senior citizens only, but think again. Malls tend to stay open until around 9 or 10 p.m. and they offer a safe, well-lit, and temperature-controlled area in which to take a brisk stroll.

Plus, if you are the type who tends to get bored on a walk, simply take a spin around a department store, or make a detour into an interesting looking shop. Take your pedometer with you, and explore every inch of your local mall until you hit your step goal.

Also, being around people is a great way to stave off that bluesy feeling you can get when the days are shorter.

Got Stairs?

If you happen to live in a home with a staircase, then you already have a ready-made and professionally installed piece of fitness equipment. Lace up a good pair of nonslip shoes, and get walking.

Sure, something as simple as running up and down the stairs will get you a very good cardiovascular workout, but do yourself a favor and Google some creative stair workouts. You’ll be amazed at what you can do on those same stairs you’ve been going up and down for years.

Load up some good tunes, print out a cool looking workout, and get to it.

Fitness Video Games

As video game consoles continue to evolve before our very eyes, they have brought a whole new aspect of fitness into our lives – the video game workout.

Nearly every console you can think of has an entire suite of workout or dance games which require you to follow along with coordinated movements in front of your TV. Some great titles to explore are Wii Fit, Dance Party, and Dance Dance Revolution (note that some of these require peripheral equipment), but there are many more to choose from.

Transform TV Time

And speaking of the TV, something about the fall and winter months drives us toward that glowing rectangle more often than usual. So, since you know you’re going to be there bingeing on your favorite shows anyway, why not set yourself up for success?

Placing an elliptical trainer, stationary bike, or rowing machine in front of the TV is a great strategy for keeping yourself moving. You get to catch up on your shows, and you get to put in a pretty good workout at the same time!

Really, all you need to stay motivated and keep moving during the fall and winter is a little bit of determination and creativity. You’ve put in so much good work thus far, so reward yourself by doing something fun, quirky, or creative as the days get shorter and chillier.

The 1st thing that got me interested in Capsiplex was the fact that it was all natural and that there was no side effect. It actually works. After trying for 3 weeks and losing 3 pounds I have just ordered 3 more bottles! Hope that the weight loss continues.

I would most definitely recommend this to anyone trying to lose weight! Since I started using this supplement I’ve been losing about 3 lbs per week average. I’m however going to the gym to speed up the process but all in all ….I’m happy.

I’ll have tons of energy, go for miles of walks and actually went up to sprinting. After weeks I got slimmer and trimmer. (I am now maintaining my weight). I am pleased to say it has no side effect whatsoever, best of all IT’S ONCE A DAY. That fits in well with my 12hr shift.
